Big Spring - Construction of the new Howard County Law Enforcement Center is nearly complete, so what does it look like inside? CBS 7 got the first look inside the 65,000 sq. ft. facility.
Crews are hard at work putting the last pieces of work into the Troy Hogue Law Enforcement Center as they prepare for the dedication of the new building.
"They're getting the flooring down..putting the ceilings in. It's the last minute small details," Howard County Sheriff Stan Parker said.
The building itself is larger than anything the Howard County Sheriff's Office and Big Spring Police Department have ever worked in before.
"We're busting at the seams," Sheriff Parker said. "We're moving into a facility thats rather large. We're excited about it."
Building materials are still in most rooms, but every room has a purpose. The facility has a large training room, plenty of work space for all officers and even a new evidence room.
"This is three times larger than what we have right now," Sheriff Parker said.
All of the extra room will leave space for the Sheriff and Police Departments to grow under one roof.
"When you can do the things that we're doing and the work together that we're doing, it helps bring in both sets of resources making us more effective," Sheriff Parker said.
He says once the new facility is open, law enforcement will be taken to the next level.
"It'll be good for the community..it can't be anything but good for the community," Sheriff Parker said.
Everyone should be moved in to the facility by the end of October.
The dedication for the new Troy Hogue Law Enforcement Center is set for tomorrow at 11:00 am.
