Alpine, TX - The Alpine City Council took no action at their special council meeting concerning the fate of the city attorney.
Alpine City Council members tell CBS 7 that after City Attorney Rod Ponton's criminal history was released to the public, his current job position is going to be up for discussion.
According to the Alpine Daily Planet the list included a 1977 DWI conviction and 2 late filings fines with the Texas Ethics Commission.
Ponton will be part of a run-off election next week for the district attorney seat.
Council members say they will hold their regular meeting in two weeks; the topic could be on the agenda for that meeting.
