Summertime Storms Expected Again Today 07/23/12

Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies across West Texas today. High temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 90’s across the Permian Basin. Highs around 100 are expected in the Upper Trans Pecos and Presidio Valley. Look for high temperatures a little closer to 90 in the mountains of West Texas. Rain chances will range from 20% in the Permian Basin to 40% in the mountains. Storms that develop will produce brief downbursts of rain and lightning.

Summertime thunderstorms are likely each day through the workweek. The best chance of rain will occur on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will top out in the 90’s each day of the week.

It appears that rain chances will decrease this weekend. Sunny skies are expected on Saturday and Sunday.
