Tuesday Morning Weather Update Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
The hottest day of the week is expected today. Temperatures for all but the mountains will top out above 100 degrees. Highs above 105 are expected in the Permian Basin. Temperatures in the Upper Trans Pecos will be in the neighborhood of 110. Temperatures will top out closer to 112 in the Presidio Valley. The mountains will see highs in the mid 90’s. Sunny skies are expected across all of West Texas and SE New Mexico today.
Wednesday through Friday doesn’t look much different. Sunny skies and highs in the triple digits are expected. However, the upper level ridge responsible for the heat and dry conditions does appear to weaken in the late extended forecast. As such, temperatures will drop into the upper 90’s under partly cloudy skies can be expected this weekend. While overall rain chances appear quite low, there is a slight chance of a few thunderstorms in the mountains and Big Bend this weekend.
