National Weather Service Trying to Make a Integrated Warning Team 2/24/14
CBS 7 News
The National Weather Service is having its first ever workshop in Midland on Wednesday. National Weather Service meteorologist, Melissa Huffman says they decided to have it here because of the number of people moving into West Texas.
She says they hope to create an integrated warning team to improve the lines of communication when severe weather hits the Permian Basin. The goal is to have warnings and alerts that are consistent as they go out to the public.
"This area is no stranger to severe weather so it's important to talk about it," says Huffman.
Experts say in order to be prepared for anything, make sure you go over your safety information at school, work, and home, and stay updated with your daily forecast as much as possible.
