More Clouds Today 2/24/14
Monday Weather Update
Greg Morgan Ė Chief Meteorologist
A cloudy day is expected across much of the region. Highs will top out around 70 for most locations. A few spots in the Lower Trans-Pecos could even see a few showers. South winds of 5-10mph are expected through day.
While winds arenít expected to be high today, there will be at least enough winds to produce decent moisture transport into the region by midnight. As temperatures fall, itís not out of the question to see light drizzle and patchy fog. This could continue through early Tuesday morning.
Highs on Tuesday will be a little tricky. I suspect that locations along and north of I-20 will see highs in the upper 60ís. Locations south of I-20 will see highs in the 70ís. Skies will be mostly cloudy. A cold front will move into the area late Tuesday afternoon. This will put the brakes on the heating and will produce a strong northerly wind.
Temperatures will plunge into the 20ís on Tuesday night in the wake of the front. Highs will struggle to reach the mid 40ís. It appears that this round of cold air will be short-lived.
Expect highs to return to the 70ís Thursday through the weekend. The wind could be a little breezy Friday and again on Sunday.
