Two veterans and their dog are hiking across the country to raise money for a veterans organization. Today, they hiked through Big Spring. The group is raising money for Wounded Wear, which helps veterans returning from service.
Austin Shirley started hiking from Florida to California in October. His friend, Bryan joined him in Louisiana. However, the star of the walk is Archer. He is a Huskey, which is a breed that can hike up to 100 miles a day. The crew says he's enjoying the three thousand mile hike.
"He's doing really well. He's really liked the cold lately. Its getting hot recently, so we're eliminating our day walking and walking in the night," Shirley said.
