TXDOT Conducting Survey For Long Term Roads Project 2/14/14
February 14th, 2014
Traffic seems to be getting worse here in the Permian Basin.
"They drive crazy here," said an Odessa driver.
While there’s very little TXDOT can do to prevent bad driving, people we spoke to would like to see them take other steps to keep up with the growing traffic.
"Widen them and then do a lot of maintenance on them because there's a lot of gravel. Even once they do it, two or three months later it’s back again," said one man who works in Odessa.
Many brought up Highway 191, a major roadway connecting Midland and Odessa.
"191 should widen four lane traffic on both sides. I think that would be better,” said one Midland resident.
The survey asks for information like what city you live in and then allows you to choose the level of importance for various road projects, such as new bike lanes.
TXDOT will use all that data to finalize its plan in October. People CBS 7 talked to are hoping TXDOT hears their concerns.
