Midland Police Looking For Suspect in Carjacking and Assault 2/12/14
CBS 7 News
February 12, 2014
Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help in identifying the suspect of a Carjacking and Assault.
On February 8th, 2014, the victim was driving in the area of Carver Street between Estes and Cuthbert in the evening hours when a Hispanic male forced himself into her vehicle. The suspect made the victim take him to the east side of town to a specific location and upon reaching that location, changed his mind and made the victim take him to a secluded location east of town in the county. Once arriving at that location, the suspect violently assaulted the victim and forced her out of the car where he continued to assault her. The suspect then took control of the vehicle while the victim pleaded to him to release her infant son still in the vehicle. The suspect made the victim remove the infant from the car and left both of them stranded with no way to get to or call for help. A Good Samaritan was driving by who not only witnessed the stolen vehicle leaving the scene but also located the victim with her baby and was able to get them emergency help.
The victim was able to provide enough information to the investigative detective so that a composite drawing was made of the suspect. We need your help in locating this violent and careless suspect.
The suspect is described as a short, Hispanic male, with black hair and a thin black mustache. On that day, he was wearing a gray/white shirt and blue jeans. He is possibly known by citizens in the east side of Midland.
If you have any information on this suspect and it leads to an arrest, you will be eligible for a cash reward UP TO $1,000. No caller ID is ever used and you will remain anonymous.
