FORT STOCKTON, TX--The City of Fort Stockton is beginning to see signs of a mini-boom, and is preparing their infrastructure for the future.
City Manager Raul Rodriguez says the oil boom in the region is having a positive impact on their local economy.
More businesses and realtors are interested in building in their town, and so far, three new motels have been constructed and more are in the works.
"We’re not as active as up north, but we’re starting to see all the precursors that are showing up now, that’s telling us we’ll have a lot of activity real soon," said Rodriguez.
Rodriguez says they are in need of the business and hopes the growth continues.
