Lieutenant Terry Chamness has over 30 years of experience in crime scene work.
When he retired regional academy officials contacted him to teach a crime scene class.
"There were a couple here that we knew, knew my abilities and knew that I would be very good at probably this teaching," he said.
In today’s class law enforcement from Lubbock to Odessa were dusting bottles and learning valuable tools.
"You know it just helps them have a better idea of what to look for and how to basically pull that evidence," said Chad Williams, Big Spring Police Chief.
This course also helps officers move up in their career.
The class will last all week At the end, these officers will benefit from the hands on training.
"It's a very entailed class as far as all the detail you to put into it and things we do because we do a lot of hands on training," Chamness said.
