FORT STOCKTON-This year the City of Fort Stockton will be able to repair more residential streets than they have in previous years.
Michael Corkrum, the City’s Public Works Director, says they have enough funding this year to repair 10 miles worth of streets, where as before they could only cover 2 miles.
“The HB445 Tax provides funding for specifically street repairs, and then just added this fiscal year, were side walk repairs as well. So we definitely use those funds, they provide a considerable amount of resources,” said Corkrum.
Corkrum says they’ve already begun to repair potholes on the south and east sides of town, and have begun to re-widen streets where vegetation had grown over.
The repairs should be completed by this summer.
