Body Found in Chest Freezer in Hobbs 2/10/14

HOBBS, NM - On September 3, 2013, officers of the Hobbs Police Department responded to the 1400 block E. Dunnam in reference to a suspicious odor coming from a home. Upon arrival, officers learned the residence where the odor was coming from was being used as a storage facility by the owner.
Officers entered the home and subsequently located a body inside a chest freezer that was in the kitchen. The body was removed and taken to the Office of the Medical Investigator to determine the identification of the body along with the cause and manner of death.
Through investigation, the body was determined to be that of Everette Willford, age 22, of Hobbs. The Office of the Medical Investigator officially ruled Everette’s death as an accidental death due to toxic effects of methamphetamine.
