Warmer Today... Much Colder Tomorrow! 2/4/14
Tuesday Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
A very complex and rapidly changing weather pattern is expected over the next 24 hours. Temperatures will swing wildly from the 60’s today down to the 20’s and 30’s tomorrow. There is even a chance of wintry precipitation in the forecast for the next couple of days.
Today: Strong westerly winds will aid in the warming of the lower atmosphere. Expect a high in the 50’s and 60’s. Skies will become mostly sunny through the day.
A cold front will move into the area after midnight. It appears that some wintry precipitation will develop after the front moves through. This could fall as a mix of sleet and snow. Temperatures are expected to be much colder behind the front. Look for lows tonight in the mid 20’s and highs only around 30 on Wednesday afternoon.
Another shot of arctic air and precipitation will move into the area on Wednesday night and Thursday. Lows will fall into the teens on Wednesday and Thursday night. Highs on Thursday will only reach the mid to upper 20’s.
** We will drop below freezing tonight and will not climb back above freezing until Friday morning!!! **
