Syracuse Takes Over Top Spot in AP Poll 2/3/14
UNDATED — Arizona and Syracuse have swapped positions in The Associated Press men's basketball poll. The Orange, who are off to the best start in school history with 21 wins in 21 games, have taken over the top spot after their exciting win over Duke last Saturday and Arizona's road loss to California. In the new rankings, Syracuse received all 65 first place votes and is back on top of the poll for the first time since the Orange held the No. 1 spot for six weeks during the 2011-12 season.
Following Arizona is Florida in the third spot with Wichita State fourth and San Diego State fifth.
The second five features Villanova, Cincinnati, Kansas, Michigan State and Michigan.
Syracuse doesn't get much time to sit back and relax as this evening the Jim Boeheim (bay-HYM') coached team has a home game against Notre Dame. In other games tonight, No. 6 Villanova is home to Xavier and 16th-ranked Iowa State is at No. 19 Oklahoma State.
