Andrews - A popular restaurant chain comes to town and it's packed from the moment it opens its doors, all the way until it closes.
But where this new restaurant is may surprise you.
You would think the most popular McAlisterís in America would be in a big town like Dallas, however itís right here in west Texas, in the tiny unexpected town of Andrews.
Everyone wants a taste of what the new McAlisterís is serving in Andrews.
"It's about time we get one! We needed one!" Andrews resident Elizabeth De La Cruz said.
"As soon as we open the doors they're here, as soon as we lock the doors we still have people coming," Kenneth Woods, the regional manager for McAlisterís said.
Whether the people come for the sweet tea or a sandwich, this store is doing something right.
"Through the first four days, we're up about 15% over the sales of the previous McAlisterís," Woods said.
Putting them right on track to break a record, which would make for yet another Andrews restaurant to break a national record. People call it a sign of the times in Andrews.
"We've been wanting a new place for a while. We got Dominos, now this. We'll break the record," De La Cruz said.
"We're just booming right now," Andrews resident Kim Harris said. "This is the busiest I've ever seen our town."
Here's some good news you can use: if the Andrews branch does break the record, sweet tea on Monday will be free.
