Former Ranger Michael Young to Retire 1/30/14
One of the most versatile baseball players of this generation has decided to hang up his cleats, according to reports.
Former Texas Ranger Michael Young has decided to retire to spend more time with his family.
The news was first reported by Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal who said on Twitter that Young had "three good offers to continue playing, but wanted to be with his family."
Young spent 14 years in the majors; 13 of those with Texas. He finishes with a .300 career batting average and two top 10 finishes in the MVP voting: 2004 and 2011.
