Update on Wednesday NM High Speed Chase 1/30/14

LEA COUNTY, NM - Lea County Sheriffs Deputies participated in a multi-agency pursuit on Wednesday which began in Eunice and ended in Andrews County, Texas.
The pursuit began when the owner of a maroon 2013 Dodge pickup, which had been reported stolen earlier in the week to Hobbs Police, observed the pickup in the area of Monument, NM. The vehicle headed south on State Road 8 from Monument towards Eunice, NM, followed by the owner.
The owner ofthe stolen vehicle notified the Lea County Communications Authority who alerted the Sheriff's Office and Eunice Police. Upon its entry into Eunice, the vehicle was pursued by Eunice Police Officers. The pursuit was taken over by Lea County Sheriff's Deputies near State Road 248 and State Road 18.
Lea County deputies maintained the pursuit of the vehicle as the driver fled east towards Andrews, TX. Once Texas authorities arrived in the area of the pursuit, Lea County deputies relinquished control to Andrews County Sheriff's deputies. The pursuit ended in Texas with the arrest ofthe driver by Texas officials.
