At around midnight, city officials say two water mains broke, causing hundreds of residents to experience some inconveniences such as having dirty water, no water, or low water pressure.
"Man we canít do anything. I didnít realize how much water we use on a daily basis. Canít flush the toilets, canít wash your hands, had a hard time brushing our teeth this morning. Thank god we had some bottle waters,Ē said Lloyd Duck, a Big Spring resident.
City Officials say they hope to get the issue resolve by late tonight, or early tomorrow morning.
Avanel Greenwood was unable to go to work today because of a sinkhole that had formed and blocked her driveway.
"Sheís stuck in her house. She canít even leave her driveway; theyíre (the city) scared the sinkhole will get worse if she tries to pull her car out. So she canít even leave her house," said Duck.
Big Springís City Manager has implemented a temporary ban on all non-essential water use until repairs have been made to ensure there's sufficient water for basic living necessities.
