Cold And Windy Today 1/27/14
Monday Morning Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
A strong cold front moved through the area this morning. This allowed the stronger winds and colder air to be felt across much of the region. As we move into the afternoon, the winds will back down a bit. However, the temperatures will remain quite cold through the next 48 hours.
Look for highs today in the mid to upper 30’s for the Permian Basin. Temperatures in the 40’s are expected a little further south. However, all locations will see temperatures plunge after sunset. Overnight lows will drop into the teens and wind chill readings in the single digits are likely.
Highs on Tuesday will only top out in the 30’s. However, fewer clouds are expected on Tuesday afternoon.
Highs will return to the lower 50’s on Wednesday. While this is still below normal for this time of year, it will be much warmer than today or Tuesday.
Highs will return to the 70’s on Thursday and Friday. We might even be able to hit 80 in a few locations.
Another cold front will move through the region on Saturday.
