Educational planning is an important aspect of life in college and high school. Advances in course offerings make it easier than ever before to attain higher education or move on to the job market with ready to go skills, but students can begin laying the path to success even earlier. WE sat down with Desiree Parker at Junior High School Counselor at ECISD. She explained that they will hold several open house and orientations to get students ready for the big transition to junior high. She said different junior high campuses offer different classes so you need to check with what school your child will be attending. She also explained that many after school activities like dance, and soccer can count as a PE credit.
We talked with Jason Nickisch, Assistant Director of Pharmacy at Medical Center Hospital. He said it is important to bring leftover medication to be properly disposed of. If medicine is thrown away or flushed it could end up in the wrong hands or could contaminate the environment. The medication take back is free and there is no limit to the amount of drugs they will accept. They will be having these take backs quarterly in March, June and September.
