FORT DAVIS-Fort Davis State Bank is at the center of a discrimination complaint.
The U.S. Department of Justice says the bank was discriminating against Hispanic borrowers. According to a copy of a consent order obtained by CBS 7, the bank has contacted victims of the discrimination.
They have until 60 days to file for part of the $159,000 settlement. If you would like to file a complaint, contact the U.S. Department of Justice at 1-800-896-7743.
We talked with one Odessa banker who said the bank may have been charging different loan interest rates for friends or family, a practice he says is not uncommon in some small banks.
The bank has locations in Ft. Davis, Alpine and Presidio. It formerly had a subsidiary in Odessa.
