Strong Winds Today 1/16/14
Thursday Morning Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
A cold front moving through the area today will be the focus of the forecast. Strong winds will develop in the wake of the front. Expect a northeast wind at 15-25 mph through the late morning and early afternoon hours. Highs will still top out in the upper 50’s to lower 60’s across the Permian Basin. A few locations in the southwestern part of the area could even see readings push 70 degrees!
A colder air mass will drop southward into the area overnight. Look for overnight lows in the mid 20’s. Highs on Friday will only top out in the 50’s for most as the colder air remains in place.
Temperatures will climb quickly through the weekend. Expect highs in the 60’s and lows in the 30’s this weekend.
