Dolphins, Giants and Redskins Making Changes 1/14/15
MIAMI - The Miami Dolphins have found a new offensive coordinator. They have named Eagles quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor to the position after his success developing quarterback Nick Foles this season.
He replaces Mike Sherman, who was fired last week after two seasons with Miami.
ASHBURN, Va. - The Washington Redskins have promoted Sean McVay to offensive coordinator. He was one of the assistants retained after coach Mike Shanahan was fired earlier this month. He has spent four seasons with the Redskins, the last three as tight ends coach. The 27-year-old McVay was an assistant in 2008 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, when he served on the same staff as new Redskins' coach Jay Gruden.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Longtime New York Giants assistant coaches Mike Pope and Jerald Ingram have been fired after this season's dismal performance by the offense. Pope and Ingram were both members of coach Tom Coughlin's (KAWF'-lihns) original staff when he was hired in 2004. The firings came one day after Coughlin decided to take his offense in another direction by hiring Packers quarterbacks coach Ben McAdoo as his new offensive coordinator.
