Tonight area roadsters came together to give racing a good name. They call it "No drama. No racing. No burnouts."
The Ector County Coliseum parking lot was teeming with car enthusiasts of all kinds.
Drivers made it a point to communicate that this event is simply car lovers coming out to share their knowledge, show off their prized possessions, and to demonstrate to the community that drag racing is not all bad.
From classic cars, to supped-up mustangs, to big bad trucks; all are welcomed at the Saturday Night Cruise.
Car enthusiasts congregate outside the Ector County Coliseum. They walk around checking out each other’s rides and talk horsepower.
“We like to just be around car people, you know? It’s just what we like to do," says car enthusiast Ryan Difebo.
But many easy riders will admit there can be some negative misconceptions when it comes to fast cars.
"We’re not here to hurt anybody, we’re here to have a good time," says Difebo.
After last week's high-speed chase that landed an OPD officer in the hospital, many car lovers wanted to clear their name as a group.
"Whoever ran away, they should have just taken their punishment," says Difebo.
