The data breach at Target could now be impacting more than 70 million customers, almost two times more than what they originally believed.
The retail store released a statement yesterday morning announcing new details in regards to their ongoing forensics investigation, which read, “certain guest information – separate from the payment card data previously disclosed – was taken during the data breach.”
The company is now offering one year of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection to all guests who shopped in any of their U.S. stores.
The statement says customers will have three months to enroll in the program, adding that additional details would be shared some time next week.

Target officials want customers to know that it's completely safe now for customers to use their credit and debit cards, as they have identified and removed the access point of fraud.
