Vonn Out Of Olympics 1/7/14
That's how Lindsay Vonn described her reaction to being forced out of the Olympics. The four-time World Cup overall champion made the decision to pass up the defense of her Olympic downhill gold medal after failing to make progress recovering from a re-injured right knee. One of the biggest names in Alpine skiing will have surgery shortly, according to Vonn's personal publicist.
Vonn was on the comeback from surgery to repair two torn ligaments in the knee suffered in a February crash, when she tore her ACL - not for the first time - in a training crash in November. The 29-year old then sprained her MCL during a race last month.
