ODESSA-A rental home at 4738 Devonian in Odessa caught fire early this afternoon. Odessa Fire and Rescue Batallion Chief Kavin Tinney says the fire may have started on the porch of the home and quickly spread into the attic.
Mother of four Andrea Crenshaw was home at the time with her 18-month-old daughter. Crenshaw says she and her daughter escaped the home with no injuries thanks to a neighbor who banged on her door and windows when the blaze began.
"I don't know what would've happened if he hadn't gotten us out," Crenshaw told CBS 7.
Tinney says the home has "substantial" damages. The rental property manager is working with an insurance company to find Crenshaw and her four children a temporary home.
