Odessa Parking Ordinance in Effect: Officers Trying to Give Warnings First 1/6/14

The Odessa Police Department tells us officers are on the lookout for trailers and vehicles parked in front yards not on cement in Odessa. Officer Steve LeSueur says they're hoping to give out warnings before issuing a citation since some still don't know about or understand the ordinance. He says normally, only if it is a repeat offender would they issue a citation.

ODESSA-With the New Year comes new rules and regulations.
Beginning tomorrow, residents in Odessa will no longer be able to park their vehicles in the front yards unless it is paved with cement.
City spokeswoman Andrea Goodson, says no permit is needed if homeowners wish to pave their front yards with cement, so long as it's on their private property.
A permit and an inspection are needed if owners wish to construct on public property.
