MONAHANS-The Ferguson family in Monahans is concerned not only for their familyís safety, but also for the safety of the community, after dogs continue to get loose and attack others.
About a year ago, Scott Fergusonís 6-year-old son was attacked in front of his grandmotherís yard by a dog that got loose from its owner, and was sent to the emergency room. Then, 4 months ago their grandmotherís Dachshund was attacked by their neighbors Pit Bull, for a second time nearly taking itís life.
To make matters worse, just yesterday morning Fergusonís cousinís American bulldog was attacked on their grandmotherís front yard by the same pit bull, leaving her with severe bite marks and a limping leg.
Ferguson says the family doesnít have enough funds to take the American bulldog to the vet, which would be the familyís third time in less than a year that they were left with hospital bills, all due to vicious loose neighborhood dogs.
The family is asking that local police do something to fix this problem before itís their 86-year-old grandmother who gets attacked. Tonight 10 weíll have the full story.
