Buckeyes Lose a Player 1/1/14
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Ohio State won't have sophomore defensive end Noah Spence for Friday night's Orange Bowl game against Clemson. Spence has been suspended for three games for violating an undisclosed Big Ten rule.
Spence did not accompany the seventh-ranked Buckeyes on their trip to the Orange Bowl, with the team citing "a personal issue." The 12-1 Buckeyes play No. 12 Clemson, which is 10-2, in the game. As recently as Monday the team said there was some hope that Spence, an All-Big Ten player this season, would be able to join the team for the game.
As part of the suspension Spence also will sit out the first two games of the 2014 season.
