UPDATE: Two People Shot Overnight in Midland, One in Critical Condition 01/01/14

"We heard a bang bang bang!" says Debra Johnson, the victim's aunt.
According to police, cousins, 24-year-old Korey Munson and 19-year-old Jamal Samuels, were parked outside of their house on the 1200 block of Maple Avenue in Midland around midnight when someone shot them.
Munson suffered multiple shots to his chest and stomach and Samuels was shot in the leg. Johnson says her two nephews were visiting for the holidays.
"Family is so important to us," Johnson tells us.
She says she found Samuals knocking and Munson barely conscious lying in the doorway and was thinking, "Lord please don't let him be dead, don't let him be dead."
Police say around 1:00 AM first responders arrived to take them to the Midland Memorial Hospital. Samuels was discharge this morning, and Munson remains in critical condition.
Neighbors we spoke to say they were just as surprised as the family was that they could hear gunshots on their street.
"You never want to hear that your street has gunshots," says one local neighbor. “We were scared.”
"I hope they get justice, and I wanna know why or what went wrong," pleads Johnson.
Police say at this time they don't have a suspects but the investigation is ongoing. Stay tuned to CBS 7 as this story continues.

UPDATE 12:16 PM:
Midland's Public Information Officer Sara Higgins says the two gunshot victims were found outdoors in the 1200 block of East Maple with gunshot wounds. Detectives believe they were shot inside their vehicle.
A 24-year-old victim remains in critical condition after multiple gunshot wounds.
A 19-year-old victim was discharged from the hospital this morning.
Both are living with a family member on the block at this time. There is no suspect at this time as detectives continue their investigation.
MIDLAND, TX - As the clock turned to Midnight Police responded to a call of shots fired. Information is limited but Midland Police do tell us at least one person suffered a gunshot wound. It all happened in the 1200 block of Maple. Information is limited, stay with CBS 7 for the latest.
