Russia Beefs Up Security After Bombings Kill 31 12/30/13
MOSCOW - Two suicide bombings in as many days have raised concerns that separatist militants in Russia have started a terror campaign that could stretch into the Winter Olympics, just six weeks away.
The attacks in Volgograd, just 400 miles away from the Olympics host city of Sochi, left at least 31 people dead.
Russian authorities and the International Olympic Committee insist that the site of the games is completely safe. It's protected by layers of security.
A suicide bomber killed 14 people today in an attack on a bus. Yesterday, 17 people were killed when a suicide bomber attacked a railway station. Russian authorities say they believe the same group carried out both attacks.
