Mall Traffic Increases For Last Minute Shopping 12/24/13
December 24th, 2013
Christmas eve means time off from work and time with family, but it also means time for many to do some last minute Christmas shopping.
Shoppers poured into the mall all day looking for last minute gifts. Some admitted they procrastinated this year, but for others, particularly oil field workers, this was their first chance to do some holiday shopping.
For Terrance Ray, this was his first day off this month. So, he battled the parking lots and crowds to go shopping.
"It's expected, so you try to go in to see what you can find, do a lot of shopping online," he said.
While he found what he was looking, for other oil field workers were struggling to find the perfect gift.
"Itís frustrating because there's a lot of people and sometimes you wait until the last minute and what ever you do want you donít find," said one shopper.
For many shoppers they put it off until the final day, packing the malls.
"I know, itís crazy! I thought it would die down, but it didn't," said one shopper.
The last minute rush filled stores and parking lots, one man we spoke said he searched for a spot for half an hour.
"It was a little crazy, but it's expected. It's Christmas Eve and everyone's doing a little last minute shopping," he said.
