ODESSA-A West Texas family is left homeless after their travel trailer is stolen in the middle of the night.
There’s an empty space that sits on lot #10, where the Barrera family’s home used to stand.
"Everything was in there, our life was in that trailer. We're homeless we don't have anything. Some of our baby stuff is gone, my dogs are gone," cried Erica Rivas-Barrera.
Some time after midnight Sunday morning, someone latched the Barrera's trailer to their truck, and drove off, leaving this family of five with nothing.
"I barely talked to the guy next door, and he said when he had got home around 2:30 am, he saw somebody latch it to their truck, and took off with it. But he didn't know, because he just moved in," said Abraham Barrera.
The Barrera couple had a baby a month ago, and was staying with her mother for a short time for the extra help, but would still check up on their home every night.
The family was planning on coming back home for good sometime this week.
Erica Barrera has one message to say for whoever took her families home:
"Can you just please bring it back, we won't press charges, just please bring our home back."
Now the Barrera family is left with an empty lot, still in disbelief, that everything from pictures, and Christmas presents, to their two Chihuahua dogs, could possibly be gone forever.
The Barrera family asks that if anyone comes across their trailer, to please contact the Ector County Sheriff’s Office.
The trailer is a white 2006 Gulf Stream Cavalier, with a dent on the front right hand side of it.
The Ector County Sheriff’s Office says this case is still under investigation. Stay with CBS 7 for continuing updates.
