ANDREWS-Alcohol has yet to hit shelves in Andrews following a November special election to allow the sale of beer and wine in stores and mixed drinks in restaurants.
Carolyn Beck with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission says there are three licenses pending, one at the 7-11 on Main St., Convenience Beverage Inc at 800 Main Street and One Stop at 1110 Broadway Street.
Beck says it takes an average of 37 days right now for the TABC to issue a permit, but it can take less time if there are no holdups.
Last week, viewers submitted photos of the 7-11 on Main which has prepared an empty cooler with a sign "beer coming soon".
Employees at both the 7-11 and One Stop tell CBS 7 that they have not yet started to sell alcohol.
