Big Spring, Tx
Nearly everywhere you go in the city, you can find roads in desperate need of repairs.
"Terrible, right now itís terrible everywhere," said one Pecos resident.
Residents CBS 7 talked to complained about road conditions and say they need to be fixed.
"I blew out the tire of my truck going down a road one time," said another resident.
City officials say they can only fix so many roads at a time because of other infrastructure projects and low taxes.
"At some point, there has to be some debt issued and the question becomes how do you pay for that debt issued," City Manager Fred Reyes said.
In November about 600 people voted in the election and the road bond failed If council decided to put the bond on the ballot in May, officials say they would educate voters.
"What we need to do is explain why we are making this repair to this street," Reyes said.
Nearly every resident CBS 7 talked to said they were unaware of the possible bond, but they would vote for it.
