BARSTOW, TX-Pablo Sr. and Cecilia Reyes of Barstow, Texas, have not had the means for getting to their veteran son who’s been in a coma since Monday December 2nd in Hawaii.
But as of 10:45 this morning, the Reyes’s are off on a flight headed to Hawaii to be with their son.
After sharing the Reyes’s family story about how they couldn’t afford airfare to go be with their son, Pablo Reyes Jr., so many people, even those from outside of West Texas, have been asking to help and make donations towards the family. But thanks to two Odessians, airplane tickets have been bought for the parents of Pablo Reyes Jr.
Last night, after seeing the story air on our newscast and Facebook, Diana Fernandez of Odessa, purchased one way tickets to Hawaii for the Reyes’s.
The giving and help doesn’t stop there, early this morning we received a call from Suzanne Griffing with Any Seasons Travel, who said they will get the parents tickets to fly back from Hawaii when they're ready.
The family says they are blessed, speechless and are beyond grateful for all the help that’s been offered to them by the community.
The family will still be accepting any donations that come in for food, transportation, and a place to stay in Hawaii.
Right now all the family has for this month is their $45-dollar food stamps.
They don't know how long they will be staying in Hawaii just yet. The family asks to keep the Reyes’s in prayer as this will be their first time flying in an airplane.
To make a donation to the Reyes family you can visit any Complex Community Federal Credit Union, and ask to make a deposit for the benefit of Pablo Reyes Jr.
