ANDREWS-City of Andrews Finance Director Steve Eggleston says nine permits have been submitted for approval to the city to sell beer and wine in stores.
Eggleston says the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission has been in talks with the city as each of the permit applicants go through the process of legalizing the sale of alcohol.
Eggleston says various stores have advertised in the paper as required by law, but TABC has not yet granted any licenses yet.
Police Chief Bud Jones said the Police Department held an administrative training session today in reference to alcohol sales.
You'll remember that voters decided to allow the limited sale of alcohol in a special election on Nov. 5.
