More Snow Forecast for Mid-Atlantic, Appalachians 12/10/13
Decemebr 10, 2013
WASHINGTON - There's another partial government shutdown today -- but this one is caused by the weather, not by a fight over federal spending.
Non-emergency federal employees in and around the nation's capital have been granted an excused absence today, while other employees were told to telecommute.
Snow has been falling this morning in parts of the mid-Atlantic region and the Appalachians.
That's prompted schools to close in a number of areas including Washington, Philadelphia and parts of Kentucky and Tennessee.
The new snow comes on the heels of Sunday's wintry weather, which dumped several inches of snow on Philadelphia and northern Maryland.
