North Texans Dealing with Ice Storm Aftermath 12/9/13
Decemeber 9, 2013
DALLAS - North Texas is expected to see temperatures slightly above
freezing and a bit of sunshine, but it will likely still be a couple of days
before the ice that has coated the region is gone.
National Weather Service meteorologist Dennis Cain says temperatures Sunday
could reach a high of 37 in some places. Temperatures aren't expected to get
into the 40s till Wednesday.
Bitter cold settled in throughout North Texas after sleet, snow and ice
pummeled the area Thursday night and Friday.
About 400 departures from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport were
cancelled Sunday. On Interstate 35 north of Dallas, where traffic has come to a
standstill for hours at a time, a Texas Department of Transportation spokesman
says graders with blades to break up thick ice have been brought in.
