Instead of rewarding themselves with an extravagant Christmas party, over 200 members of the Sewell Ford team took the opportunity to give back to their community.
Over 200 volunteers from the company, and their families, took on all sorts of work for the fifth annual Big Serve.
"Instead of doing a Christmas party that would really just reward ourselves I think you know, as a parent, I know that the greatest gifts I have ever received are the ones that I give," says owner Collin Sewell.
Groups went to the West Texas Food Bank to box up donated food, others went to Harmony House to give the building a facelift, and some went to area nursing homes to Christmas carol and decorate.
One large group went to the High Sky Children's Ranch to bring the children the Christmas spirit. Volunteers decorated the homes, played with the children, and three teams built new clubhouses for the kids.
"One of these clubhouses took about 390 hours alone," says team member Jerry Rodriguez.
But the effort is well worth the reward.
"The smiles on the children's faces...that's my favorite part," says Rodriguez.
