Border Patrol Arrests 6 Juveniles Carrying Marijuana in Backpacks 12/6/13

(Marfa)- Border patrol agents assigned to the Marfa Border Patrol station arrested six citizens of Mexico with over 300 pounds of marijuana.
Four of the six were juveniles including two 17-year-olds, a 16-year-old and a 12-year-old boy.
The Marfa Station agents, in coordination with Jeff Davis County Sheriff's Office, apprehended the group attempting to circumvent the U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint near Marfa, Texas.
They were carrying the marijuana on their backs and when arrested it was discovered that the 12-year-old boy had the heaviest load at 80 pounds.
The marijuana and the two adult males were turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for prosecution.
One of the 17-year-olds is being held in Jeff Davis County and the others were returned to Mexico.
