Andrews County To Hold Nuclear Disaster Drill 12/4/13
December 4th, 2013
Andrews County will hold a nuclear disaster drill tomorrow, at the Andrews County Expo parking lot. Andrews County first responders, along with the state department of health and United State’s Department of Energy, will simulate a disaster where a truck hauling nuclear materials crashes and nuclear material is exposed. The trucks in this exercise transport nuclear material through Texas and into New Mexico. Every three years, the Department of Health and Department of Energy pick a location in Texas to hold the drill, which doesn’t feature actual nuclear material. It will start at 9:30 am and members of the public are encouraged to watch from bleachers set up in the parking lot.
