Warm Again Today And Tomorrow 12/3/13
Tuesday Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
Expect another warm day across the Permian Basin. Highs will top out in the upper 70’s to the lower 80’s for most locations. A few extra clouds will drift across the area from west to east. Winds will be a bit breezy, from the southwest at 15-25 mph.
Another warm day is expected on Wednesday. However, the clouds will thicken up a bit, keeping temperatures a few degrees below today’s readings. Winds will again be breezy on Wednesday.
A strong cold front and upper level storm is expected to impact the area beginning Wednesday night. Temperatures will fall into the 30’s by sunrise Thursday morning. Temperatures from that point will cool even further into the afternoon. Temperatures will fall into the lower and mid 30’s on Thursday afternoon. Rain will begin to fall behind the front and will transition over to sleet and snow late Thursday night, into Friday morning. At the moment, it appears that accumulations will be light. However, it will be enough to produce dangerous driving conditions across much of the region, especially along and north of I-20.
Snow will taper off on Friday afternoon but temperatures will remain at or below freezing though at least Sunday morning.
Highs will climb back into the 40’s on Sunday and Monday but another shot of arctic air will drive into the region on Tuesday of next week.
