UPDATE: Shots Fired Call Near Bowie Junior High Ruled Precautionary, Clear 11/15/13

Bowie Junior High was not in a lockdown this afternoon. Police received a report of “shots fired” in the neighborhood near the school right as dismissal was starting around 4:10.
As a precaution, the students were kept inside and dismissed in an orderly manner as parents arrived for them. The area is now clear; police do not know if it was really shots fired but they are looking for suspects who have left the area.
Again, the school was never in a lockdown.
Odessa – Officials are reporting that shots were fired in the area of the Bowie Junior High School in Odessa. School was releasing students at the time police were dispatched. The school was not shut down, but kept students inside and released them with their parents.
Officials say the Odessa Police Department is searching for two suspects, which they believe have fled the area. Officials say suspects were not on school property when the shots were fired.
