Ector County Courthouse Controversy 11/2/13

Now that early voting has come to a close, Ector County residents hoping for a new courthouse are pushing for voters to hit the poles November 5.
It's a 95 million dollar bond and it has caused a lot of controversy.
One group is speaking out saying that the plan to just build a new courthouse was put together too fast without any kind of community input.
"I honestly don't think that we know what our options are or what it could be, because the work has just not yet been done," says Jeff Russell with the Citizens for Responsible Government.
However, the committee asking for the bond says this was the best decision.
"The need really exists for providing a new courthouse. The security system in the courthouse is minimal and the design dates back to the 30s," says Courthouse Committee member Larry Johnson.
