Art, nature, and community: all three qualities can be found at the I-20 Wildlife Preserve in Midland.
Today the nature center opened the gates for the inaugural Paint the Playa Festival. Local artists and organizations displayed their art along the 1.5 mile nature trails. Artists and educators shared their work and knowledge with people of all ages.
"We hope that people will come out and recognize the beauty of art in nature because really a lot of art is inspired by nature," says I-20 Wildlife Preserve President Elaine Magruder.
The Wildlife Preserve opened to the public in January of this year.
All year long the park allows students, families, and naturalists enjoy the natural beauty found right here in West Texas.
