ECTOR COUNTY-New data on smoking is not good news for Ector county.
Medical Center Hospital says data shows Ector County has about three percent more smokers than the average in Texas. Nearly 21 percent of Ector County residents are smokers.
"The big reason is there's not a lot of awareness that has been brought out into the community about the dangers of smoking, but now we're trying to change that,” said Medical Center Hospital’s Pulmonary Patient Educator Renato Galindo.
