Construction Workers Compensated For Back Wages 10/30/13
CBS 7 News Staff
(Midland)- There is new information on a dispute between a group of construction workers and two businesses.
After more than a year of waiting, 17 workers are finally getting paid for their work in the construction of a Midland hotel.
Last year, CBS 7 reported the issues facing these workers including poor living conditions and unpaid work.
The workers filed liens on the "Marriott Springhill Suites" property in Midland.
After months of negotiations, the owner of the property and the contractor agreed to compensate the workers more than $21,000.
In return, the workers will not foreclose on the hotel.
